The Whole Counsel of God

Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all, for I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God...(Acts 20:26,27). “Come now, let us reason together...” (Isaiah 1:18).

WATCH & PRAY

Who am I?

I live in southern Chile. I converted to Christ in 1989 at age 24, and that same year I enrolled in a Bible Institute to prepare for the ministry. But I soon learned that one must either believe what the Bible alone teaches, or spend his life wrestling with the confusing and varied interpretations of men. The teachers did not agree among themselves on some of the basic truths, and a number even disagreed with what the Bible plainly stated on certain subjects.

I thus became acquainted with a perplexing array of doctrines. Some of them were in agreement with Scripture and could be proved when all passages dealing with the subject were examined. But others turned out to be “hand-me-down” theology from a former generation of preachers, many of whom were “great” in spite of their doctrinal errors.

I had to decide, either to respect my conscience and depend on God and the knowledge of the Word He had started to give me as a guide to determining scriptural truth, or go along with the crowd. I decided to abandon the Bible Institute to continue educating myself through reading, praying and witnessing for Christ. On-the-job training is the best way to learn the ways of the Lord and to serve Him more effectively.

Soon I learned that one must never teach something he could not prove with two or three plain Scriptures, agreeing with Paul that “in the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established” (2 Corinthians 13:1). Believing also that “no prophecy…is of any private interpretation” (to be interpreted without comparison with other Scriptures, 2 Peter 1:20). If the Bible is God’s Word in human language then means exactly what it says. Any interpretation which is out of harmony with what is plainly written must be rejected as the theory of men.

My early decision remains the same today. It has cost me a few friends now and again, but it has also paid off in many ways, one of them being a comment I receive now and then from someone who says, “Your articles have helped me to understand better the Word of God”. Such testimonies are my reward for carrying out my early decision to teach exactly what the Bible says on all subjects it deals with.

If I have inspired you to study God’s Word with an open mind; if I have influenced you to take Scriptures literally; and if my testimony has made you hungry for God, His Word and His anointing, then I have accomplished the purpose I had in mind—that of blessing your life!

This blog is essentially the storage site for all the Biblical posts and articles that I want to have readily available to me. Some are written by me and some are posted here with or without the authors’ permission. It is my hope and prayer that all the true Crhistians who read these things will be enriched in and drawn deeper into their faith in Christ Jesus, and that any non-Christians will find that the truths of the Biblical faith clearly and concisely expressed, and also be drawn to Him who is the great Subject of the Old and New Testaments, the only Mediator between God the Father and sinful man: Jesus, the Christ.

About the same time I gave up the Bible Institute, I gave up on the denominational church system as well. My Bible study and my readings made me realized the mess it is in, and that it’ll never change, and that it’ll eventually unite with all other religious systems ushering in the one-world religious anti-Christ system mentioned in Revelation 17:1-18.

I worship the Lord at home, every day, trusting God to bring the people I need into my life. I’m on duty 24 hours a day as a prayer partner, witness, counselor, preacher, and brother in Christ. I do not compromise my convictions or my confession of faith in order to attract anyone.

My hometown is very religious. Chile is a Catholic country, and Evangelicalism at large maintains a close relationship with Catholicism. This kind of compromise and syncretism is rampant here. So I felt I had to be more vocal about the true model of the New Testament church, that’s why I started my blog in Spanish in May, 2011. Traditional church-goers think this vision is an attack upon the man-made model of church they support, but this is an issue that is settled in the New Testament, which describes two separate streams of “Christianity” operating side by side throughout the church age. First, there will be true apostolic churches, against which the gates of hell shall not prevail. They will be persecuted, hated, despised, yet they will continue until Christ’s return. Our Lord promised His faithful ones: “Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world” (Matthew 28:20). Second, there will be apostate churches, which will increase in number and grow worse and worse as the end of the age approaches. Consider the following Scriptures: Matthew 24:4,11,24; Acts 20:29,30; 2 Thessalonians 2:3-8; 1 Timothy 4:1-3; 2 Timothy 3:13; 2 Timothy 4:3-4; 2 Peter. 2:1-3; 1 John 4:1; Jude 1:3,4; Revelation 17:1-6.

The parables of Christ in Matthew 13:1-58 depict the course of this present “church age”, and they describe a progression of apostasy. [Apostasy refers to falling away from the true Faith.] The parable of the leaven, for example, depicts a woman putting leaven into three measures of meal, “till the whole was leavened”. Leaven in Scripture stands for sin and error (1 Corinthians 5:6; Galatians 5:9). Thus the parable tells us that the error which was introduced by false teachers even during the days of the Apostles will gradually increase through the centuries until the entire religious system is leavened. The ultimate fulfillment of this is in Revelation 17:1-6.

The apostasy began during the lives of the Apostles and has steadily increased through the centuries. John wrote, “Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time” (1 John 2:18). John taught that there will be a future Antichrist, singular; but he is preceded by many antichrists, plural. We believe the Antichrist, singular, refers to the man of sin who will rule the end-time kingdom described in Daniel 9-11; Matthew 24:15; 2 Thessalonians 2:3-12; and Revelation 13:1-18. The antichrists, plural, refer to all who reject apostolic truth in favor of satanic deception and man-made tradition. Thus the “antichrist” is both a man and a system; it is both one man, and many men. It is in this latter sense that the popes throughout history are identified as antichrists. (Evangelical churches also have their popes/antichrists.)

Another passage which teaches the same truth is 2 Thessalonians 2:7-8. The “mystery of iniquity” is that program of evil whereby the devil is attempting to corrupt the churches of the Lord Jesus Christ by sowing tares and apostasy. It is associated with “Mystery Babylon the Great” in Revelation 17:5.

We see the direct fulfillment of these prophecies in the Christian world today. It is evident in heretical bodies such as the Roman Catholic Church and the liberal World Council of Churches, none of which are founded directly and exclusively upon the apostolic Faith or the apostolic church pattern. It is also evident in the ecumenical movement, which is calling for unity in diversity at the expense of Biblical truth and which is breaking down the walls of separation between truth and error.

There is a great need for books in Spanish on this subject and others. Perhaps the articles posted on my blog in Spanish will be helpful to some.

I’m a certified translator English-Spanish. My Spanish is standard. As a translator I avoid Latin American slang, idioms and regionalisms. I also avoid software programs. I endeavor to serve all the Spanish-speaking believers with a translation they can easily understand. I can start translating any document as soon as I get an assignment from you. If you want to know more about this subject, use the CONTACT FORM.

Thank you, dear brethren, for praying for me.

Rich blessings!

P.S. I love hearing from people, so feel free to drop me a line and let me know what you think of this site.
